Seed Beads: How to Measure Them and More

I have been intending writing a bit about beads, especially seed beads, for a while now. This post is made up of two parts:

ü How you measure seed beads?

ü What are the different and famous seed beads available to us?

How you measure seed beads?

As many jewellery makers know, seed beads are measured by a /0 number system. The seed beads are placed in a straight line at first. And then the number of beads that fit comfortably within 1 inch is counted. If suppose 12 beads come within the space of 1 inch, then the beads are measured as 12/0.

What are the different and famous seed beads available to us?

I have been making bead jewellery for quite sometime now. Earlier I had to buy beads from shops and stores from near and far, and I had little option to choose from. But now with quite a few good web sites providing seed beads I can lay my hands on famous Japanese seed beads and also Czech seed beads. They are easy to work with and also quite beautiful to look at.
